Practice Manager

Emily is our Practice Manager. 

A Graduate from SUNY Cortland in New York for her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training, Emily has also earned her masters from UNC at Greensboro in Sport Psychology. She started her career as an assistant athletic trainer at Western Carolina University working with the Women's Volleyball and Softball teams. She moved into the role of physician extender with Carolina West Sports Medicine working with Dr. Judson Garbarino and covering home events for Robbinsville High School athletics. She transitioned to Harris Orthopedics and worked as a medical assistant to Dr. Douglas Gates. Emily took the next step into a manager role serving as the site coordinator for Blue Ridge Health in their Jackson County location before joining Smoky Mountain Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy as the office manager. 

Emily has kept her role as office manager with Smoky Mountain and joined with Carolina West Urgent Care as our practice manager.

Emily lives in Sylva with her husband, Jonathan and their two boys, Sawyer and Oliver.
